Master-PEE-ces of Art

Previously, on Bouyant Dog, I reported on Cyrus, the dog photographer.  Cyrus' medium is film, while other dogs use paint, but one dog uses a medium unlike any other - Tucker uses pee.

This is the story of Tucker - an old, stray German Shepherd Dog who ended up at a county animal shelter, weighing in at only 49 pounds.  Tucker, who was diagnosed with the canine equivalent of multiple sclerosis, now lives in a loving home and experiments with his medium daily, producing "master-pee-ces" of art, which are now on display in his very own art gallery.

Tucker's condition leaves him unable to raise his leg to pee, so Tucker, peeing on the go, leaves elaborate and thoughtful pictures on pavement.

These "expressionistic" works feature swirls, loops and wiggles on a canvas of brick and concrete, a century-old neighborhood product of the Industrial Revolution.

Tucker's art is somewhat a revolution in itself and, unlike other famous artists' work, Tucker's pictures sell for a modest $19.99, and a portion of all the proceeds in sales benefit The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs and the Cleveland Animal Protective League.

Being a humble fellow, Tucker has not let fame get to his head, as he still enjoys a biscuit, a rawhide and a walk around the block, like every other dog.  However, as an artist, every day is a new meditation and a collaboration between mind, body and this morning's breakfast, which yield unspeakable works of genius.

Visit Tucker and see some of his pee-ces at: Pee-ces of Art, by Tucker.

1 reflections:

  1. What a great idea. So glad Tucker's talents have been found. We're off to see more.
